If yours is the former, you’ll likely be utilizing it as a sitting room to have drinks and good conversation with guests, without distractions like television. If a conversation is popular and fills up quickly, check back as we will likely schedule it again. In the next posting, we will consider this community concept in light of our Living Room Conversations family. We have faith communities, libraries, cafes, schools and individuals using our guides by video and in person. Through these conversations we hope to increase understanding of various issues, build relationships, and pave the way for collaborative and inclusive problem-solving. Story Stitch For the remainder of the Spring 2021 Semester, Story Stitch will be offered in partnership with groups interested in building relationships, and trust. Small groups of 4-8 participants gather for 60-90 minutes to have conversations built on the agreements to seek first to understand, share from personal experience, and practice civility. Our conversation guide format is a simple container for meaningful small self-facilitated conversations. Living Room Conversations offers an open-source format to facilitate structured conversations among people of differing views and backgrounds. For the remainder of spring 2021 semester, Living Room Conversations will be held on a topic-specific basis in partnership with student organizations, clubs, departments and others. The backbone of a Living Room Conversation is a conversational model developed by dialogue experts in order to facilitate the connection between people despite their differences, and even identify areas of common ground and shared understanding. What are Living Room Conversations? Living Room Conversations works to heal society by connecting people across divides-politics, age, gender, race, nationality, and more- through guided conversations proven to build understanding and transform communities. Civic Engagement Alliance is excited to announce they are partnering with the national organization Living Room Conversations to host a series of online conversations open to all North Idaho community members.
